Is SEO Strategies Making Your Head Spin For 2010
Monday, November 16th, 2009I was looking desperately for a while now hunting for the latest website optimization tips across the internet. But who truely understands how it all works? I mean it is not likely that the owners of the search engines are going to share this information. If they were to then it would become useless with so many sites made the exact same way trying to manipulate the search engines in there favor. So what do you listen to when you do get some help? I say what ever works that does not get you pushed down by search engines.
We all have been told everything there is to know about SEO. Things like bolding and italicizing keywords is said to work well but what boost do you get from it. Doing this by itself will not have you racing to the top. I see people doing things like creating links from their keywords to sites like Wikipedia but that only helps them not you. This is one of the reasons why their website can mostly be found on the top of results of most search phrases. Then there is the issue of keyword density. Some say ten percent or so of text should hold your keywords and others want more used. Sure, you can not just add in your keywords sixty times in one small article but when is enough really enough?
Now there is also the idea that suggest that you should have your keywords as your domanin name. It seems to work for some sites but there are lots of pages that can get listed above them without the keyword present at all. So doing this does not make it that easy. There has to be more to it.
Search Engines still look at your meta tags title and descriptions. Or you can let the search engines figure out what to pull up. Frankly I use the meta tags because my results are better. For those who do not then make sure you put what you want to be ranked for in the first paragraph of content to make it easy for the search bots to know what your website is created for.
How about all those dirty schemes for SEO people use. You know like filling a page with really small text packed with keywords or stuffing a bunch keywords in alternative text in images. That stuff only work for a short while and then you get dropped to like page one hundred or what ever. Take it from me, I would avoid any of those tips.
The best way to go is using well written text with one way links from reliable sites are still the only wat to do it. Freshening up your pages from time to time will keep the bots coming back. Backlinks will tell them how popular your website is. But your links should come from more than one source. Be sure to shake it up a bit with quality backlinks from directories, blogs, websites, videos and ect. There are more things you can do but those are two of top seo tactics out there.
I could talk for days about what people tell me about optimization but what is the point. Just look for what works and when it is successful then repeat the process for all of your sites and pages. With a little trial and error you could end up on page one in no time.
