Twitter-How To Use Twitter

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Almost everybody has heard of twitter in one way or another. Either they use twitter themselves or they’ve heard about twitter on the news or on television in general. You can build a large network of followers through twitter. These followers can be friends, associates, clients, or even customers. This is a must read for those who are new to social networking. Twitter has really shaken up the social networking community and the web in general for that matter.

When you use twitter you create your own personal brand and you can possibly dominate the niche you are focusing on. Let me explain. You have 140 characters to get your message across. This means a fast paced conversation. This is really a good thing because it doesn’t allow anyone to monopolize one conversation for a very long time. It also makes for a very fast conversation that can be exciting and interesting.

Unlike a webpage or a blog this can result in quick relationship building and even quicker dumping is you are not on point with the conversation. It’s very easy to get unfollowed. The good thing is you can spice up your message with audio and video if you know how. This is what makes Web 2.0 so much different than Web 1.0. Web 1.0 would be a webpage updated itself perhaps at bats once a day. Using Web 2.0 social networking sites updates themselves constantly. Most of the time is updating is around one time per second.

If you have friends, acquaintances, or relatives that use twitter you might want to invite them to follow you. These people may not be able to help you build your business but it’s a good way to get started, it’s simple, and if you make any mistakes in the beginning, this group will be most forgiving.

You can also take advantage of other applications that help you to use twitter more efficiently and to get more out of it. There are applications that make twitter easier-to-use as well as ones that can help you find followers that are more targeted to your interests.

When promoting your business you should follow experts in their field. You should focus on the most powerful users of twitter. Marketing on a social network is different than marketing anywhere else including webpages, blogs, or e-mail. You have to be less in-your-face and offer beneficial information which leads your follower to the place you want them to go to see what you have to offer.

The second thing you need to do, which will help your marketing efforts is to meet more people. Retweet is a great way to make new friends. The original message is repeated. Whenever you receive a new message make sure you reply right away or as soon as possible. This can become a challenging task as you get more followers. However, it is good etiquette to reply when someone sends you a message.

Twitter relies on each other treating each other with respect and decency throughout the community so that people that are following you will want to continue to follow you. And if they decide not to with just the quick press of a mouse button to unfollowed you.

My Catch 22 Dilema

Friday, August 21st, 2009

Every now and again, my email gets bombarded with notifications of the latest product launch. The next “must have” to be successful in your online home business. Sadly and very rarely do any of these latest “must haves” fulfil their promises of being the answer to my prayers.

Soon after launch, you start to see some good and some bad reviews. Sometimes in a minority of cases, you realise that the product is everything it says it is and is receiving raving reviews. It is at this point you decide to jump in and pay your subscription. This can be anything from $10 and upwards to $100 or more and with a monthly subscription on top.

Having made a commitment, you now need to make it work for you to in effect at the very least, get your money back in the form of commissions for referring others to the program.

Once inside as a registered member, there will undoubtedly be tutorials about the program showing you how to promote it and maximize the potential and going through these takes time, time which in reality you should be spending trying to recruit others.

As time passes you are still struggling to recruit anyone to the new opportunity and all the time, your level of investment is growing. Whereas you only needed to recruit two or three others to break even at outset, because of the monthly subscription, you now need to recruit five or six others to break even. Wow! Decision time, do you continue with it? or do you cut your losses and quit?

It is at this point, you reflect on the sales letter that promised you success. It is also when you remember those immortal words “you must get in now and secure your position to ensure you maximize your potential” and you remember you didn’t! Yes the program does work – for those who got in early because they were able to recruit whilst the program was still “hot” and recoup their investment, but for any latecomers the task of recruiting is dependant on being able to drive a large amount of targeted untapped (people who haven’t yet heard of the opportunity) traffic to the sales page. Okay if you have a large budget, but not so for the average Joe or Newbie.

So you decide to quit. Did you make the right decision to “wait and see” at the outset?

Well, yes and no.

Yes - because there are more new product launches that flop than there are that succeed.

No - because the program you did join is successful in its own right, but by getting in late meant you would need a large budget to make it a success for you. Catch 22!

So how do you avoid catch 22?

There are no magic answers, sorry, but it’s true. There will always be successes and failures when joining different opportunities. Just do your due diligence trying to avoid getting scammed and work hard at promoting any opportunity you do decide to join keeping your fingers crossed, hoping you managed to join at the right time.

There is one bit of good news I can pass on to you however.

Recently there was a new product launch and one which is unlike any other I have ever come across. Like any other, I joined this late mainly because of my cautious nature. But unlike any other, it is a program which is perfect for anyone on a low budget and for Newbies to Internet marketing and will work for anyone who gets in late “Guaranteed.”

You may well already have heard about it as there has been a lot of hype about it, hence my wait and see decision. The program is called “ClickBank Pirate” and is centred on ClickBank products. ClickBank is perhaps the number one market place for affiliate marketers to find products to sell and earn commissions and ClickBank Pirate makes full use of this.

This article has dragged on a bit longer than normal, so I’ll just give you a brief outline using one of their pre-formatted emails:

The simplest and easiest way to get started, hands down, is to sell products from ClickBank…

The beauty of selling ClickBank products is you don’t need to go the time trouble and expense of creating your own product…That saves you a TON of time and hassle, and you can become profitable that much faster…

You just select from dozens of top-selling products in all the hottest niches around…But… You have no doubt seen (and probably purchased) tons of CB “how-to” courses and products claiming to teach you how to make HUGE $$$ with Clickbank.

Well, for the first time ever, Soren and Cindy have taken it to the next level…Instead of trying to TEACH you how they make massive Clickbank commissions and leaving you to try to emulate their methods, they have actually created an entire “plug-in-and profit” system that does all the hard work for you - practically on auto-pilot!

Look, it’s not your fault you haven’t become successful online yet… The so-called online gurus blatantly lie to you… They make everything sound so complicated and difficult, and they pretend to be the only ones with the solution for you… They just want your money… but it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to create a growing, profitable sustainable business online…

Check it out… this is your chance to have the easy life you’ve dreamed of… much sooner than you may think!

I can’t force you take a look at ClickBank Pirate, but I do highly recommend that you do. You will very quickly see the potential to grow an online Home Business giving you a passive income for years to come.

Avoid Catch 22 Now!

Wishing you great success.

Learn To Produce Skilful Copywriting

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

There was a post in a forum the other day that I responded to, and boy did it start one hell of a row.

The post was in the form of a question, which in short asked whether anyone ever reads long sales pages and went on to suggest that they were a waste of time.

I replied to the post in what I thought was a helpful and factual way. My opinion was, and is, as follows:

Long sales pages that are skilfully constructed do have a great value. The cutting edge information and “hook” need to be “above the fold” as does the capture box, and an option to purchase.

People who just want the facts - and nothing more, will rarely scroll down the sales page. Your above the fold presentation is all that they will have to base a “buy or move on” decision upon.

Below the fold can serve two purposes.

One purpose is to ensure that all of the prospective purchaser’s fears and desires are dealt with and that the prospective purchaser finishes the page with a comfortable feeling that they know and can trust you.

This is where you can close the sale with the “long distance reader”. They are reading to the bottom, because they want every detail. They want to believe and the long sales page is your opportunity to convince them that your product or service is EXACTLY what they want or need.

The other purpose of a long sales page is for search engine optimization. It is this second statement that started the trouble.

Now I freely admit that in my original post I did not go into great detail, but a so called “senior member” and self styled copywriting expert who has no background knowledge of me, made an immediate attack about my post and stated most categorically that if I used my sales page for SEO purposes, then I had missed the point completely and utterly and he suggested that I was misinforming people.

My response to his reply was swift.

In my opinion skilfully written copy is extremely capable of performing two tasks – more in fact.

Look at the way in which the legendary Douglas Adams wrote on multiple levels, but I digress.

I went on to point out that I had checked the ranking of his website, which was nowhere to be found in the first several pages of google, and I suggested that since one of my sites – one with the long sales page – was on page 1 google (and others) and in the top 5 spots on page 1 for ALL of my main search phrases with some Number 1 positions too, I was perhaps better qualified to comment about skilful copywriting that combined great selling qualities together with search engine optimization facets.

As is the often the case with bullies – they are really cowards when anyone stand up to them – He had me banned for life from the forum.

So what can we take from this?

What is it you want form your website?

For myself, I want to a) make money online and b) gain lots of web traffic so that I can continue to enjoy point “a”.

If you just want a copywriter, then any old hack will do. If you want skilfully written copy that outperforms the heard, while helping you to increase your search engine positioning, then you may need to learn – or hire - some additional skills.

In short you may need a professional website copywriter.

The Pros And Cons Of Buying An Established Niche Affiliate Marketing Business Website

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Building a niche affiliate marketing website from scratch and advertising it on the Web can take up a large amount of your precious time. If you respect your time, you might want to think about buying an established Internet business.

There are a number of important benefits to be had in buying a business website that somebody else has constructed and promoted. For example:

* it will already have built up a consistent stream of traffic

* it will already have been discovered by the search engines and might even have reached a page one position on Google for some keyword phrases

* it may by now be generating sales and profits.

Whereas the advantages to be had in buying an established website are extraordinary, bear in mind that if you are not watchful, you run the possibility of becoming massively ripped off.

A few less scrupulous niche affiliate marketing website owners will rapidly set up a website and try and flip it for an blown up price, building and flipping website after site in swift succession to unwary buyers.

As soon as you hit upon a website that appears to suit your purposes, you have to check it out before you buy. Is the content exclusive? Test it out on Google or by utilizing a duplicate content checker such as copyscape.com.

Input the site URL into Dnscoop.com to test out its Alexa traffic rank, domain age, page rank and the number of inbound links. Dnscoop will in addition provide you an estimate of the worth of the site.

After that, check out the particulars of the owner of the business website at whois.com.

To stop the seller from setting up another version of the site you are planning to buy, ask him to sign a non-competition clause.

Once you take over a website, there are quite a few jobs you need to do to make it your own.

1. change all the passwords.

2. Trade the affiliate links with your own, or restore the affiliate programs with your own favored programs.

3. Substitute the e-zine subscription form with your own.

4. Bring up to date the website contact details.

5. Include your own photograph.

6. Maintain the website and build up traffic flow and conversion rates.

If you have made a high-quality acquisition, you should be able to recoup your cash while you work on expanding your new business. You will have finished more in a month than the majority of website owners manage to do in a year.

Where can you purchase an established website?

The best 3 website auction locations are:

1. Bizquest.com - which has been operating ever since 1994

2. Bizbuysell.com - the biggest online website auction website

3. Dealabiz.com - lists a number of low priced niche websites

In summary, if you can pay for it, buying an established niche affiliate marketing business website has many benefits over starting one from scratch.
